Attain A Strong & Healthy-Looking Smile With Crown & Bridge Treatment

At Dripping Springs Family Dentistry in Dripping Springs, we’re proud to provide crown and bridge treatment to help our patients protect and strengthen their smiles.

What are dental crowns and bridges?

Dental crowns are caps typically made from porcelain that fit over a damaged tooth to restore its shape, size, and appearance. Dental bridges are also made from porcelain, and they can replace up to three missing teeth in a row with artificial versions that rely on adjacent teeth (fitted with crowns) as anchors.

How are these restorations placed?

Crown and bridge restorations are typically placed over the course of two visits. During your first appointment, our dentist will prepare your tooth or teeth by filing them down to make room for the crown and bridge. Impressions will be taken of your teeth and sent to our laboratory professionals, who will create your customized restoration. Your teeth will be covered with a temporary restoration until your permanent version is crafted, and once ready, we will arrange a second visit to test its look and fit before bonding it in place.

Is anyone a candidate for dental crowns and bridges?

Many patients with damaged or missing teeth will likely be candidates for these restorations. However, it’s important to note that patients should be in good oral health, have diligent dental hygiene habits, and undergo a thorough examination to determine their candidacy for treatment.
